Confusion was evident throughout Twitter earlier this week when the breakfast house, IHOP, decided to change the restaurant’s name to IHOb – International House of Burgers. Many found humor in the name change as they have never visited the restaurant for the burgers. The place is known for its breakfast food. Darren Rebelez, president of IHOP, told CNNMoney,"We are definitely going to be IHOP, but we want to convey that we are taking our burgers as seriously as our pancakes.” The name change was a marketing strategy to draw attention that IHOP is not just a breakfast or brunch place. But, that the restaurant is branching out to lunch place by including a variety of burgers to the menu.
