What Is "Fake News" and Where did it Originate From?


Named 2017’s word of the year, the popular term used in modern-day media, "Fake News", is what some people may consider “one of the greatest threats to democracy”The Telegraph. Some people may argue this word originated from Donald Trump’s rise to presidency, because of his vivid use of the term. When using “Fake news”, Trump’s direction is toward CNN in particular, as well as other liberal based stations who he claims to make up false accusations about him and his political party; he uses this word suggesting the media to be corrupt and misleading. Donald Trump is one of the many people in today’s society who has become a fan of the popular word “Fake News”.
