The Power Of Confusion
Confusion has become extremely commonplace in modern society. To the point that the notion that "if something is a little confusing, it must be too complicated for me to understand so I will leave that to the smart people in charge" is accepted. For example, a quote from former mayor of New York City Rudy Guiliani in regards to Presidential pardons, "Giuliani later told CNN that he wasn't suggesting that the president should pardon anyone in the near-term, but that there was historical precedent for pardons once an investigation is done." This flies in the face of what Guiliani said last week regarding the same issue. I believe that confusion and contradiction is being used to dupe the country in order to achieve an undisclosed goal. The journalists in this article from NPR do hint at that and are using a critical angle of the events and people involved in the story.
