After albeit a diplomatic success
with the latest meeting of North Korean and US leaders, Trump is hoping to use his momentum to break the ice again with Russia. However, this is a dangerous
stance that very few in the US currently support after the several infractions
that resulted in Russia being “expelled from the group after it annexed Crimea
in 2014.” In Russia, a country where Russian dissidents have been attacked
where ever they are. Even on the soil of other sovereign countries just goes to
show the dangers of the Russian government. The US President himself has repeatedly
bashed the media but in times like this, it just goes to show how important it
is. In both countries, journalists try to keep the government transparent.
Hopefully the work of journalists involved can ensure that each of these
governments can be honest and truly represent the wants and needs of their
citizens.
