Professor of sociology caught teaching conspiracy theories

A professor at William Paterson University in New Jersey was caught on video teaching conspiracy theories in his class called "Social Problems", Newsweek reported yesterday.  This professor, Clyde Magarelli, claims that the moon landing was fake, that Irish people were actually the first American slaves, and that the number of Jews that were murdered in the Holocaust is exaggerated.  The video clip of the professor denying the moon landing was actually posted to Twitter by one of his students.  The university is currently investigating the report, but would not comment on whether the sociology professor was personally under review.  Their statement to Newsweek reiterated their commitment to "impart[ing] to our students the highest standards of knowledge, inquiry, preparation, academic freedom and integrity". [1 image, 1 link, 1 quote, 122 words]
