Sara Chodosh wrote an article about how our late ancestors
may have use to hunt sloths that were way bigger than they are now. They were
eight feet tall and had long curved blades, for claws, on their feet. It is
difficult however to tell whether humans did in fact hunt these animals or not
as the fossils can not be found with cut marks. Chodosh states that
“paleontologists at the White Sands National Monument in New Mexico found human
footprints following – and sometimes directly inside – giant ground sloth
tracks.” This article is very intriguing because I never knew giant sloths
existed let alone that they would be so scary looking and the fact that our
ancestors may have hunted them is pretty cool. [1 image, 1 link, 1 quotation,
