A famous journalist in India, Shujaat Bukhari, has been shot
and killed. Even the chief minister of Kashmir, her political rival, and the
home minister of India felt grief over his death. Being an advocate for peace
and moderation, it is believed that is exactly the reason why he was killed. BBC News explains the risk for journalists being in a region involved in
territorial disputes and fights, saying “he was always aware of the dangers of
his chosen profession.” The story written on BBC News also uses a quote from Bukhari
prior to his murder, "In
Kashmir being a journalist, and [especially] a successful one, means having
more enemies than friends." [1 image, 1 link, 2 quotations, 112 words]
