A New Competitor Emerges in the GPU Industry



In the GPU market, AMD and NVIDIA have remained dominant in this sector with practically zero competition except from each other. However, Intel hasannounced plans to enter this industry and is planning to challenge the position of these multi-billion dollar companies. Intel already has some experience in the market through the integrated GPUs in its processors. The power of the GPUs are too weak to be used for more than “basic tasks like running the graphics for apps like web browsers and Microsoft’s Office Suite.” The gap between Intel’s future competitors is thin and they will have to bring a product much more valuable than what the market currently has.
