Immigration Laws Missinterpreted
Recently, as a result of the controversy surrounding the separation of immigrant families in the United States, there has been an abundance of missinformation surrounding immigration laws. According to the website Snopes, many Americans have misunderstood the meaning of Public Law 107-296, which dictates how unnacompanied minors are processed at the border. Many online figures claim the law was put in place by Democrats and dictates that immigrant families will be separated at the border. Snopes reports that Public Law 107-296 "made no provision for separating a child from parents or legal guardians [...] and it was primarily passed by Republicans."
