In 2017, London’s non profit school GSM, conducted a study that suggested one-third of millennials pick a career as a “means to an end” and 22 percent do not chase their dream career because of lack of confidence. People between the ages of 18-34 are unhappy with the career choice they are in, describing it as a job more than a career because they aren’t where they dreamed to be. “All evidence suggests that people who feel they have fulfilling careers and have high levels of job satisfaction are the most productive employees, so it’s a real concern that so many millennials appear to be unhappy at work,” says the career advisor at GSM London.
