Tesla is a very popular
electronic automobile company owned and operated by Elon Musk. Recently Elon
Musk had to lay off 9% of his staff which caused investors to short the
companies stock. Short means you are betting that the company value will go
down. Elon says otherwise. He promises profitability before the next quarter
after not having made any profit the first 15 years the company has been
around. After cutting 9% of his own staff “The electric vehicle maker is in the
midst of a broad restructuring. It is also pushing workers to hit a vehicle
production rate of 5,000 Model 3s per week, and to become profitable, by the
end of this quarter.” (cnbc.com). While Elon says the company value will go up
other investors say the opposite. Which way will it go? [1 image, 1 links, 1 quotation, 136 words].
