When I
think of roller coasters I immediately get taken back to my childhood, visiting
Six Flags often. The fun times I had with my sisters, mom and dad could never
be beat. But, should we be fearing roller coasters at all? Recently at a Florida
boardwalk park a coaster "derailed sending 2 people crashing about 34 feet to the ground" with 8 people still in
the cart, sending many to the hospital. I cannot imagine the terror that they
went through, when they were just trying to have fun. After the incident,
officials checked the coaster, and it was up to the state’s standards. So the
question is… Do we need to fear something that makes people so happy? I hope
not.
