Using NASA Technology for Deep Sea Treasures
In the 1960s, a “space treasure map” was created to identify anomalies in the Caribbean that is most likely due to shipwrecks as a part of a project called “The Bahamas Project”. Those who created it said that it was also set to have identify Cold War nuclear threats initially. At first, they did not have specific locations of wrecks marked, but they were able to make a few remarkable discoveries, including “a centuries-old anchor believed to be from one of Christopher Columbus’ ships”. Some of the technology includes night vision, an underwater scanning device and updates in the magnetometer surveys.
