Japanese-Americans’ Imprisoned in Texas in the 1940s view on Border Crisis
In the 1940s in the small town of Crystal City in South Texas, there are remains of one of the biggest internment camps that incarcerated those with Japanese and German ancestry. Today, those who were incarcerated speak and share their views on the current border crisis. “From the time I was born until I was almost five, all I had known was incarceration” one of the incarcerates say. They share that it’s difficult to just comprehend what’s going on today because it reminds them so much of what happened to them, from being separated from their families, living in harsh conditions, to oppressed on racist terms.
