Thousands Attend Funeral of Journalist Shujaat Bukhari

In the city of Srinagar, thousands of people attended the funeral of Indian Kashmiri journalist Shujaat Bukhari. Bukhari was the editor of Rising Kashmir, an English newspaper based in the Kashmir Valley. He was shot in the early morning yesterday on June 14th. Today at his funeral the streets were filled with people mourning for the loss of a man that was keen on pushing for peace between the people of Pakistan and India. As BBC news states he was known for being "a regular presence at secondary diplomatic initiatives envisioning better relations between India and Pakistan".
