A multi-billion dollar company such as Tesla should have their worries from competitors, but not from their own employees. Elon Musk has filed a lawsuit against ex-employee, Martin Tripp, over “stolen confidential information...combined...with falsehoods in leaks to the media.” Tripp had designed software that was able to hack into the company’s system and “transferred several gigabytes of data.” He made up false claims about the “amount and value of scrap material” generated during manufacturing, and that Tesla used “punctured battery cells in the Model 3 electric car.” The company is claiming in their lawsuit that these claims are false, and Tripp should owe them compensation along with an order that Tripp cannot disclose any more information.
