Seperation of Facts and Fiction

This picture of a young girl crying circulated throughout the U.S. last week and captivated the nation. Reportedly the girl had been separated from her mother at the U.S./ Mexico border, however, the girls father stated that the girl and her mother were not in fact separated. Border patrol agent Ruiz told NBC that “I personally went up to the mother and asked her, ‘Are you doing okay? Is the kid okay?’ and she said, ‘Yes. She’s tired and thirsty. It’s 11 o’clock at night." The image had been used to symbolize a controversial policy that was recently enacted by the Trump White House. The crying girl is the result of border patrol agents needing to search the mother who then immediately picked up and cared for the child after the search. Article
