I was extremely exited when I heard from a friend that the famous cartoon, Ed, Edd n Eddy, was supposedly getting rebooted. The news seemed too good to be true, but had enough credibility that I did not bother to question whether or not the show was actually coming back. After relaying the message to a friend, I was assured that the news was false, encouraging me to search online to determine if I was misinformed. After reading a Snopes article I had found, I discovered that the reboot was only a popular rumor. The article outlines the origins and spread of the hoax, while providing evidence that proves that the rumor is a lie. According to the reporter, Dan Evon, "It appears that the rumor started with a 2016 Tumblr post that proposed a series of ideas for a reboot." Other Tumblr users began to create concept art for the fake series, hoping to convince people online that the rumor was true. The rumor continued to spread as people shared the concept art online. The author of the Snopes article disproved the rumor by finding a twitter post made by the voice of the show's characters May Kankar and Naz, named Erin Fitzgerald, stating that the reboot will "never happen. Trust me, I ask [the show's director] a LOT."
