Oh Yes We Did!

There were mixed responses when a local Domino’s store, a popular pizza chain, offered to repair potholes in the city of Milford, Delaware. Delaware is one of the smallest states, “but Delaware also prides itself on being a low-tax state, and that has attracted many residents over the years who expect excellent services with low taxes and rare, if ever, tax increases.” Because these taxes are so low, it is difficult for the government to find the money to repair every pothole. Because of this, Domino’s Pizza Chain stepped in and offered the cit a $5,000 for a few photos of the potholes and some publicity. The city gladly accepted the offer, and some citizens rejoiced, however, others had a few comments of their own. Some worried about the state of the city if a corporation was needing to step in to make basic repairs, others worried about the mixing of corporation and government. Overall, most citizens felt that it was a quirky way to reduce government spending, and get the small city some publicity.
