Fake News and Health


Most of the time, when people hear the words "fake news", they think of Donald Trump uttering it in a menacing tone. However, fake news is more important and impacts more than just politics. Recently, it has been found that "1 in 50 school pupils has the critical literacy skills to tell if a news story is real or fake". It has also been suggested that fake news increases anxiety levels in children and causes them to distrust all news sources whatsoever, even the ones that distribute truthful stories. While this issue is a problem that needs to be addressed, I'm not sure if I would go as far as the article did in saying we might be damaging "the well-being of an entire generation".
