Today, fake news seems to be swarming the Internet. One article in particular has caught the attention of individuals, especially employees of the fast food chain, McDonald’s. This article by Info Wars provided a great deal of misinformation and fake news by stating, “McDonald’s announced that it would replace cashiers with self-service kiosks in all its American restaurants by 2020, in a pushback move against the left’s demands for $15-dollar-an-hour minimum wage.” (Info Wars). Journalist, Hayley Peterson, reported on this story, clearing up the miscommunication explaining, “It’s true that the company is rolling out kiosks, which allow customers to order and pay for their food, in thousands of stores.” (Peterson). These kiosks however; will not be replacing employees in thousands of stores as they “aren’t meant to replace workers.” (Peterson). McDonald’s employees can rest assured that they will not be losing their jobs to modern technology.
