Hot dog water: a Canadian performance artist makes a statement
Last week at the Vancouver Main Street Car Free Festival, a performance artist named Douglas Bevans sold hot dog water at a stand for almost $40 a bottle. The bottles, looking suspiciously like those used by Voss, contained a single hot dog, and claimed to be keto-compatible. Bevans also created numerous fake "success stories" and product information stating that the water could help the consumer lose weight and improve brain function. The point of the whole thing was to "encourage critical thinking related to product marketing and the significant role it can play in our purchasing choices.” Bevans' goal is to heighten awareness of how fake news affects our lives. He reportedly sold about 60 liters of the product. [1 image, 1 quote, 2 links, 119 words]
