A far right political twitter account by the name of @RealitySmash was caught perpetrating fake news by the website Snopes. The account posted a picture of people celebrating the 2005 victory of Liverpool's soccer team, claiming that the picture showed a London protest for the release of the imprisoned far right activist Tommy Robinson. RealitySmash claimed that the "whole of London" had gathered to protest against liberal censorship and that "the [political] left want this picture taken down." The tweet has been taken seriously by many of RealitySmash's followers, despite the fact that the picture "doesn’t even show the city of London."
