Fakebook

Facebook is showing efforts in trying to prevent circulation of fake news. This includes the implementation of the International Fact Checking Network (IFCN). BBC.com says "Facebook users in the US and Germany can now flag articles they think are deliberately false, these will then go to third-party fact checkers signed up with the IFCN." After fact checkers look at the information and debunk them, they can add a "fake" tag to the posts causing them to show up less on people's news feeds due to Facebook's algorithm. BBC.com also states that "Facebook doesn't prevent such sharing or delete the fake news story." This step is simply just to decrease the spread of fake news.
