Fake News and Politics
The term "fake news" is being thrown around a lot today - and for good reason. The onslaught of information that Americans face every day makes it hard to focus on what's real and what's not, and who or who not to trust. Our current president, Donald Trump (@realDonaldTrump) has inflamed this term by using it often, especially to describe news outlets that are typically liberal, such as CNN. In a recent press conference, Trump asks a reporter what channel he is reporting for, and after the reporter said "CNN", Trump said, "I figured - Fake News CNN. The worst" (Anapol). What's most interesting about this whole situation, though, is that Fox News actually tweeted about this interaction, and that's how I found out this all happened.
