Ditch the Melons
The FDA has warned buyers in an additional ten states about purchasing pre-cut melons in grocery stores due to a salmonella outbreak. The states of Alabama, California, Florida, Kansas, Maryland, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Tennessee have been added to the list, bringing the total up to 23. The center for disease control stated that "at least 60 people became ill in this outbreak from April 30 to May 28". Watermelon, honeydew, cantaloupe, and any fruit salads containing these fruits are potentially infected. The CDC has yet to update the number of infected individuals. It's a good thing berries are in season. [1 image, 1 link, 1 quote, 104 words]
