According to ABC News, California state officials officially have rules that coffee will be taken off the “cancer list”. The Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment has confirmed that the idea that coffee could cause a cancer risk can be debunked. A recent review of over 1,000 studies have not found enough evidence to suggest that there is a risk of coffee causing cancer. In the brewing process, it does contain acrylamide which is one of the chemicals listed as a carcinogen, however, it does not create a significant sick of cancer. In fact, coffee may “reduce the risk of some types of cancer”.
