40,000 Tesla Employees Fired

Tesla CEO Elon Musk speaks during the delivery of the first Tesla Model 3 vehicles in Fremont, US, 28 July 2017.

Tesla, a car brand dedicated to providing electrical powered vehicles, has recently fired 9% of their "white-collar, salaried staff" in hopes of making improvements to the company as a whole. CEO, Elon Musk says the reasoning behind the decisions is due to "duplication of roles" because of how much Tesla has "grown and evolved" in recent years. In addition to saving money and reducing the amount of "middle management roles," the decision was also made in order give the company a chance to "restructure" and improve their communication skills and "move faster." If this drastic change does what it is intended to do, it will allow Tesla to cut down on costs and "for the first time return an annual profit." Elon Musk released the entire email he sent to his staff for all to see on Twitter. The email explains why this move is something the company sees a must and thanks everyone for their time with Tesla.
