Team Laurel vs Team Yanny

When this news story came out, I was reminded of "the dress" which went viral in 2015. It turns out, though, that Laurel vs. Yanny actually has some science behind it, which is what Amanda Jackson explained in her article on CNN titled "Laurel or Yanny? What science has to say". She first includes the video from Instagram that first went viral, and then Jackson includes quotes from scientists attempting to explain the phenomenon, including one professor, Brad Story, from the University of Arizona, who claims that the recording quality of the sound makes a huge difference. He also says that if you change the pitch of the recording, you can hear both Laurel and Yanny. Jackson sums it up well at the end of her article, however, saying that if you heard Laurel in the first place, which was the original recording, "you are the winner and have earned bragging rights for this round of internet debate".
