For decades women have had access to birth control pills but a male birth control pill could be available soon.Article At the annual endocrine society meeting researchers were shown that DMAU (male birth control pill) "Reduced testosterone and any other hormone levels responsible for sperm production without any serious side effects." Researchers found that after taking the drug for 28 days, blood testosterone levels were at "castrate levels," or, a range of testosterone levels in the blood after chemical or surgical castration. A testosterone level this low is usually present in prepubescent boys and girls. Although this study looks promising there have yet to be any large scale tests which would help evaluate the side effects of the drug.
