When
finishing high school, students face an important decision on whether if going
to college is worth it or not. Answer to that depends on what you want to do as
a career or what kind of lifestyle you want. Currently today a lot of degrees
are becoming worthless. For example, Business degrees (I’m currently studying
business) is starting to become more about self-education and experience
instead of actual learning in the classroom; being an entrepreneur is all about
how you use your mind during any kind of situation. The only degrees that are
holding their value and then some are science/mathematic related. For example,
nurses, surgeons, electrical engineers, civil engineers, etc. Other than those
career fields college may not be worth as much as you think. “If it is
classroom learning that matters, why does the labor market offer almost no wage
premium to those who have successfully completed one, two or even three years
of college, while providing a sizable premium to those who have completed four?”
the return of investment on higher education may take years and years before
seeing a positive return (Washington Post). However, college does offer life
changing experiences and connections that will last a lifetime while in it. It’s
all about what satisfies your wants in a career to achieve your own happiness. [1 image, 1 links, 1 quotation, 220 words].
