Forcing Medications on Migrant Children

Immigrant children who are separated from their families and kept in the holding centers of Texas had stated that they were “given as many as 18 pills a day and often were not told what the medication was for”. It is reported that if the children refused to take the medications, they would face punishment or were forced to take the medications, according to a lawsuit. Moreover, it has been stated that some of these medications administered are antidepressants, anti-anxiety and antipsychotic. Some children were even forced injections. All of these actions from the government lead officials make the conclusion that it looks like they are trying to control the agitation and aggressive behavior with all of these medications.
