Many people are left wondering where a black hole leads to. Professor Stephen Hawking claims that black holes do not swallow things, rather, it is a gateway to a parallel universe. “It is believed at the centre of a black hole is a place where gravity compresses down matter so much that the standard laws of physics no longer apply”. This makes black holes impossible to study since there are no laws that exist about how they work. Theories, such as those like Stephen Hawking, all suggest that black holes are portals or gateways to a new universe. Hawking is convinced that the “ information has to go somewhere”, such as in a new dimension. “The existence of alternative histories with black holes suggests this [alternate universe] might be possible”. While this theory is a stretch, what actually does exist beyond the black hole?
