33 children hospitalized in Florida Summer camp

Numerous of kids attended Camp Cloverleaf 4-H in Lake Placid, Florida, to enjoy summer camp but on Thursday, June 21, one kid began to vomit and fainted. Shortly after, over a dozen other children started to vomit. It has been reported that the children were sent to the nearest hospital along with three other adult staff that experienced sickness as well. All other children were sent home Friday morning. There were no serious signs of Carbon Monoxide and the camp staff are predicting that it could be food related or amoeba in the water but they are still investigating. Camp officials released a statement stating,“All camp staff are trained to respond to medical emergencies, and they are certified in first aid and CPR.” The Camp has been disinfected and will remain cleaning on a daily basis as new campers arrive to the camp next week. [ 1 link, 1 quote, 1 image, 147 words]
