In Florida on June 11th 2018, Gary Wayne Lindsey Jr.'s girlfriend called the police as a result of Lindsey battering her. When the police arrived at the scene, they spoke with the victim outside of the apartment and the attempted to speak with Mr. Lindsey. Upon reaching the door, Lindsey shot at the officers and locked himself in the apartment. Along with him were his own two children and his girlfriends two children as well. The hostage situation lasted over 12 hours. The police made efforts to get Lindsey to come out of the apartment in order to save the children, but Lindsey would not corporate. Around 9:00p.m authorities were finally able to enter the apartment "hoping to rescue" the children "but all were found dead" and Lindsey also dead by gun shot. The kids inside the apartment who were killed "age from 1 to 11." Records shown that Lindsey had an "extensive criminal record" of "arson, battery, and theft." The terrifying incident is another example of domestic abuse taken to an entirely different level.
